2015: Ikorodu eyes Lagos governor’s seat

EMINENT Ikorodu indigenes under the auspices of Ikorodu Division Human Resource Development Board, IDHRDB, yesterday demanded that the governorship position in Lagos State be conceded to Ikorodu Division, noting that the zone had been politically marginalised since the creation of the state.

They assured that qualified candidates would be presented to the powers-that-be in the state for the governorship seat.

This was disclosed in Lagos at the Inauguration of the Liaison Group of Eminent Persons And Residents of Ikorodu Division.

Speaking at the event, Chairman of IDHRDB, Professor Kunle Wahab, said; “We have the information that Epe is poised for action in the struggle to snatch the governorship position in 2015 from Ikorodu despite the fact that Ikorodu, in 1992, conceded the governorship position to Epe by outvoting her own son, Prince Abiodun Ogunleye, in favour of Sir Michael Otedola.
