The Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGON) has bestowed the Most Glamorous Queen of our time, Olori Muyibat Olayinka Oyefusi, with Nollywood Merit Award in recognition of her contribution to the development of Lagos state.
During the presentation of the award, which took place at the Royal Castle of Mercy, Ikorodu on Friday, March 21, 2014, the chairman of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, Lagos State chapter, Mr. Don Pedro Aganbi, described Olori Oyefusi as a true mother, who has touched many lives, not only in Ikorodu, but all over the country. He said that the areas, where the Guild has noted the efforts and contributions of Oyefusi included, ICT development programme, welfare packages for the less privileged, women empowerment programmes and sports; noting that recently Olori Oyefusi promoted female football in Ikorodu division.
The chairman of the Guild said that the most interesting thing about her achievement was her quietness about the laudable things she had done for humanity, which the intelligent unit of the Guild had noticed. All these distinguish her from many women of substance, who deserved to be honored.

He said that she is a distinguished daughter of not only Ikorodu but also Lagos State and Nigeria. According to him, Ambassador Muyibat Oyefusi was the second person to bag the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN'S) Merit Award from year 2011 till date. In his words: "I can tell you that between 2011 till date, she is the second person to win this Actors' Guild of Nigeria, Lagos State chapter Merit Award."
In her response, after receiving the award, Olori, who was full of joy, said that the award came as a surprise because she never expected it and that she did not know that people in the Movie Industry could notice her good deeds. She described herself as a quiet achiever, who enjoys helping the less privileged, sponsoring people to be great in life, and training them to have a brighter and rewarding future.

She said that nobody can discourage her from helping other people in the society. According to her, some people have tried to pull her down in the past but they all failed because she refused to be discouraged from helping humanity.
Olori Oyefusi later commended her husband, Oba (Dr.) S.A.A. Oyefusi for his support and love, which she said, has been keeping her going with the good works people enjoy from her. She did not fail to appreciate
Nollywood actors for promoting good values and culture and projecting good image for the country. She, therefore, thanked the Actors Guild for giving her the award. She told them that she loves and appreciates what they are doing and prayed that God would continue to strengthen them and provide for their needs.
In her own speech, Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, who was also present, described Ambassador Muyibat Oyefusi as a mother of all, who passionately loves children and the less privileged in the society. She said that Olori Muyibat and her husband, Oba Oyefusi, have really done great things for Ikorodu and its divisions.

To the Actors' Guild, she said that the actors and actresses of Nollywood are very fantastic and impactful in their roles towards developing the society. She pointed out that many of them live and act their films in Ikorodu. And, therefore, they should create Nollywood Acting village in Ikorodu. According to her, many of them are already enjoying the friendliness and accommodative nature of the people of Ikorodu and should not hesitate to have their acting village in the town.
The Ikorodu News publisher, Chief Monzor Olowosago, also congratulated Ambassador Muyibat Oyefusi on the award, saying that her humanitarian gesture bestowed the honour on her. He also appreciated the Actors Guild for noticing the contributions of Olori Olayinka Oyefusi and her various laudable packages. He did not end his short address without commending the Ayangburen of Ikorodu, Oba (Dr.) S.A.A Oyefusi, for his efforts and prayers that have helped uplift Ikorodu to its present status in Lagos state.
Later, the Odofin of Ikorodu, Chief Kabiru Shotobi, who had earlier on received the visitors officially and traditionally to the venue, told the Actors Guild of Nigeria to support Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa for Lagos state Governor in 2015 because she is the choice of Ikorodu and that Oba Oyefusi has said that it is the turn of Ikorodu to produce the next governor of the state.

Chief Shotobi said that Hon. Abike has served the country meritoriously and deserves to serve her people directly and that Lagos state needs a female Governor now, who can competently represent the interests of the womenfolk, including everyone in Lagos State.
He, therefore, presented some of the books written by Olori Oyefusi to the Actors Guild and they were received by the chairman of the group, who praised the Ambassador and her husband for their achievements so far.
