2015 Ikorodu Man of the Year, Mr Rotimi Erogbogbo with his award at Ikorodu Town Hall
Memories of the much-celebrated ‘Ikorodu Man of the Year’ introduced by The Factor Media limited, publisher of The Factor Newsmagazine, was rekindled recently when Mr Rotimi Erogbogbo, the founder, RHODA Youth Centre, Ikorodu, emerged as the winner of the maiden edition of the Starlight Newspaper, ‘Ikorodu Man of the Year’
Lagos State Polytechnic, Ikorodu, and six other outstanding individuals were also awarded the ‘Ikorodu Personality Awards’ in different categories at the awards ceremony which was held on Sunday, June 26, 2016, at Ikorodu Town Hall, Ikorodu.
Ikorodu Man of the Year Award (IMOYA), is the initiative of Starlight Legacy Celebrity Magazine designed to recognise, encourage and reward outstanding performances in Ikorodu Division.

According to Mr ‘Damola Aderibigbe, Publisher, Starlight Legacy Celebrity Magazine, the “IMOYA” was inspired by events and happenings outside the division. It was conceived to appreciate those contributing meaningfully to the development of Ikorodu division”
Mr Rotimi Erogbogbo holds Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Anthropology from the University of Ibadan (UI) and Masters in Public administration (MPA) from the University of Ado-Ekiti. He is currently the Head of Administration, Alimosho Local Government.
He has been a business man and employee in many establishments. He is a seasoned administrator and manager of men and resources.
Mr Erogbogbo is the Chairman, Ikorodu Division Solution Alliance (IDSA), Member, Board of Trustee (BOT), League of Journalists, Ikorodu and Ikorodu Renaissance Platform (IREP).
The RHODA Youth Centre founded by Mr Erogbogbo is a free skill acquisition and empowerment centre for the youths in Ikorodu. Through the centre, his and wife have trained and produced numerous youths in acquiring skills in different professions skill and made them self-reliants, job creators and employers of labours.

One of the foremost schools in Nigeria, Lagos State Polytechnic, Ikorodu was also honoured with the Personality award as ‘Ikorodu Brand of the Year 2015’. The school was honoured for her outstanding achievements in areas of education, science, journalism, agriculture, sports, human development and other contributions that have been propagating Ikorodu within and outside Nigeria.

Others that were awarded with Personality awards were Otunba (Sir) Ayodele Elesho (Most Outstanding Community Statesman), Alhaja Abiodun Sherifat Ogunniyi (Most Outstanding Civil Servant), Mr Wasiu Ayodeji Adeshina (Most Outstanding Public servant in Ikorodu), Princess Aderoju Ladega (2015 Most Outstanding Youth) and Alhaji Lukman Shonibare (2015 Most Outstanding Community Development Advocate). Princess Folashade Olabanji-Oba and the President, League of Journalists, Otunba Dare Odufowokan received Special recognition awards for their service and commitments to the development of Ikorodu
