The entire Ikorodu division community dwellers, who assembled in Ikorodu Town hall during lion. Abike Dabiri-Erewa’s empowerment programme, have unanimously endorsed her for the next governor of Lagos State.
In an emotionally laden speech from political leaders, royal fathers and traditional chiefs; they all prayed that since the next Governor is coming from the Lagos East senatorial district, A bike DabiriErewa is the person they want.
Not only that, the Oba of Ikorodu, who was represented by the most Glamorous Queen of our time, Olori Muyibat Oyefusi, collected the microphone and prayed openly to support what other people have said. As if that was not enough, the Ranodu of Imota, Oba Bakare Ajibade Agoro, prayed fervently for her, while describing her as the best candidate for the job and traced her achievements not only in Ikorodu but also in Imota.
For Oba Ranodu to endorse Hon. Abike, is another pointer to her achievements because he believes strongly that Ikorodu people have been cheating the people of Imota when it comes to political favours and appointments.
Other political leaders like former Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Prince Abiodun Ogunleye and Olorunfunmi Basorun, also spoke glowingly about the woman; they now call the “Pride of Lagos"

Hon. Abike Dabiri-Ærewawas dumbfounded while all this was going on because she was not expecting the endorsement. She is a very shy politician, who had nothing to say other than that God would answer their aspirations.
During the empowerment, she spent more than twenty million Naira (N20 million) for the programme.

Among the things she bought include Keke Marwa, Deep freezers,Generators, hair dressing equipments, cash donation of twenty thousand naira each for more than two hundred people and uncountable bags of rice.
Though, that was not her first empowerment programme, it was a day many people would not forget in a hurry. The Mother Teresa of the tube' as she was fondly called during her days as a broadcaster with the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), was conferred with the new name, "Pride of Lagos," because of her pro-people representation in the National Asembly.
Admired by her constituents and loved by the leadership of her party, the All progressives Congress, (APC), Abike remains the beautiful bride among her colleagues in the House of Representatives, who are now in the habit of punctuating her contributions on the floor of the House with chants of "Pride of Lagos."
The journalist turned politician represents the Ikorodu Federal constituency. Recently, she held her empowerment prorgramme and town hail meeting at Ikorodu where more than five hundred people received various items and equipments.
